For the experienced and responsible permit holder, renewal is more than a legal requirement—it is an opportunity to reaffirm your commitment to excellence. This is not your standard, crowded renewal class. Honeybear Tactical designed this eight-hour course for the discerning carrier who values their time and expects high-quality instruction. The classroom portion is conducted live via Zoom, allowing you to participate from a convenient location while still engaging directly with our instructors and fellow students. All required hands-on instruction and live-fire qualification will take place in person at the range. The course moves beyond basic recitation to provide a focused, interactive examination of the legal changes, evolving case law, and real-world considerations that affect Maryland permit holders today. At the range, you will complete the required practical instruction and qualification while receiving individualized feedback to help ensure your defensive shooting fundamentals remain safe, sharp, and effective. The Honeybear Tactical Difference Curated Legal Updates: We do not simply reread the manual. During the live Zoom classroom session, we provide a focused briefing on relevant changes to Maryland and federal law since your last renewal, including developing case law, use-of-force considerations, and changes affecting where permit holders may legally carry. Small-Group, Interactive Environment: Enrollment is intentionally limited to encourage meaningful participation, direct access to our instructors, and thoughtful discussion. Although the classroom portion is virtual, this is a live, instructor-led course—not a prerecorded webinar or one-way lecture. In-Person Hands-On Training: All required practical instruction is completed at the range, where you will safely demonstrate essential firearm-handling skills under direct instructor supervision. Live-Fire Skill Diagnostic: Your range session is more than a simple requalification. Our instructors will evaluate your fundamentals, provide individualized feedback, and help you identify any areas that may need attention so you leave with more than a passing score. What to Bring to the Range Please bring your firearm, eye and ear protection, and 100 rounds of ammunition. Ammunition may also be purchased on site from the range, subject to availability.
